WaterMill, LLC  was formed in 2018 to manufacture and sell a portable and affordable water filtration system targeted to the home emergency preparedness need. The need for such a product was born out of my wife’s constant requirement that where ever we lived, we had to have a supply of potable water in case of an emergency–especially one that compromised our daily source for a long duration.  To this end, we purchased a large container (250 gallons capacity), filled it with water and I checked the box.  Never mind that three years later when we moved, the water in the container had a greenish tint of algae( despite having been treated with an additive that promised this wouldn’t happen for at least 10 years).  Never mind the effort it took to drain the tank, clean the tank of all the algae, move the tank to our new domicile, and then refill the tank and hope the algae would’ not return.  Even then, in doing the arithmetic, if the  event lasted for a long duration, that volume of water would only last a family of five (based on 2 gallons per day per person) less than 1 month supply–what then?  I proceeded to research other available options besides storage and found a few alternatives.  All the others could not satisfy our needs  due to cost, size, portability, flexibility  or through-put; so, we prepared a design requirement for the perfect system and proceeded to design, test, manufacture and now make available to the public what we believe is the perfect solution for a lengthy emergency that compromises existing potable water supplies.
